The advantages of running your own business from home are pretty obvious, but having your office at home does have its obstacles. Most of your time, business and personal, will be at home, so thoughtful planning will help the productivity of your business.

This is a very important point for you to consider. The ideal workspace is made of a few very important factors: members of your house, the way you like to work and the type of business you have. Pay attention to these environmental factors that make your home office so you can create a pleasant place to work where you can be comfortable, organized, and productive.

Choose the right location for your office. It should be convenient and roomy enough for your computer, printer, and fax. It should also be in a quiet area with minimal distractions because you have to remember that it is a business. Everyone in the house needs to understand that it is a place for your business activities, and it is off limits when you are conducting business.
